49ers Foundation 10th Annual Pasta Bowl

49ers Foundation - Uproot Wines Tasting

Uproot Wines pouring at 49ers FoundationServing up delicious Napa Valley wines.

Last week I was lucky enough to visit Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara in support of The 49ers Foundation at their 10th Annual Pasta Bowl. Uproot was among ten wineries selected to pour at the Italian-style charity dinner. The proceeds of The Pasta Bowl benefited the 49ers Foundation in support of Fresh Lifelines for Youth, City Year San Jose/Silicon Valley, and the 49ers STEM Leadership Institute. Working with the 49ers Foundation is always exciting as the 49ers players and staff understand the fortunate position they are in and do an amazing job of giving back to the Santa Clara community and surrounding Bay Area. Living in wine country and being the winemaker at Uproot Wines has afforded me opportunities to work with some truly special organizations and the 49ers Foundation is truly top-notch. The Pasta Bowl is just one of the variety of ways they raise money for the community and it was our pleasure to pour wine and help raise money for such worthy causes.

The night began with a cocktail reception that was held at the BNY Mellon Club, located at the 50-yard line behind the 49ers sideline. The new Levi’s Stadium is truly beautiful and jam packed with state of the art amenities. [I mean, look at that view!]

After the cocktail reception the event moved a few levels upstairs to the United Club. It seems that everywhere you go in the new stadium you are treated to great views of the field and a fun atmosphere. We were promptly greeted by Sourdough Sam (the 49ers mascot) and the Gold Rush girls and attendees were instructed to find their seats at celebrity-hosted pasta tables. I found my seat and was lucky to sit next to #86 TE/LS Kyle Nelson and #5 P Bradley Pinion. They are great guys and big wine fans. Hopefully, they're able to stop by winery in the off-season.

We sat down to a wonderful meal full of pasta and fun. Throughout the evening we heard stories from current and former staff and current players. They shared emotional experiences that they had while working with the 49ers Foundation. Overall, I had a wonderful time meeting new people and sharing stories about wine and charity. I was honored that Uproot was invited to pour our wines and look forward to working with the 49ers Foundation again in the near future.
